As a moderator, I feel I should add to Mark's statement. Moderators are here to keep the discussion on topic, to filter out conversation that a reasonable person would find vulgar or offensive, and to make preemptive strikes against flame wars, which most list members care not to see on the DML. It is not the moderators responsibility to keep a list member from looking like a fool or acting in a way that will get them in the dunking booth at DCS. The hardest part is when one member says something that is borderline, and the reply crosses the line. We try to let everyone get a rebuttal in if a post is directed to him or her, but sometimes the rebuttal must be rejected because it is worse than the original post! Moderating is a thankless volunteer job. We do our best to please everyone, but we are only human too!
