Why not use a piece of aluminum pipe and an aluminum pipe cap instead? Guaranteed never to disintegrate. DeLorean tank boot is exactly the same size as 2" NPT pipe. You can rig up a carrier like some of us low pressure boys, but simply extend it further into the tank (all the way to the bottom of John's new pump). Drill and tap the cap for a 1/8" NPT brass nipple to pass through. Pump goes on one end, inside the carrier, and a pickup screen of your choice goes on the other (pickup screens with 1/8" NPT threads are common industrial supply). http://www.dmctalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=6027&d=1213058660 http://www.dmctalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=6028&d=1213058660 http://www.dmctalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=6029&d=1213058660 http://www.dmctalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=6416&d=1215911453 http://www.dmctalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=6417&d=1215911453 http://www.dmctalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=6418&d=1215911453 Bill Robertson #5939 >--- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "Dave Swingle" <swingle_dmc@...> wrote: > > It looks remarkably like a pump I just pulled out of a car yesterday, > it had been in at least a year since it had been put in by a prior > owner (this one says "Pierburg" on it).
