One of the biggest things you can do to prevent galvanic corrosion is to change the coolant regularly. Once it gets acidic it is a lot more conductive and will enhance the corrosion process. I also believe that charging the battery in the car impresses an A/C current in the cooling system. Over time it can also lead to galvanic corrosion. Same goes for any block heaters or anything that connects a car to the household electric. That's one of the reasons why I do not like I see those floating trickle chargers always hooked up to the battery [in the car]. I see no harm in changing the header bottle to S/S.
