I was talking to a guy this weekend who was driving what looked like a 65 Corvette. He claimed that it had the frame/engine/transmission/suspension/... of a 95 Corvette, that he found a custom house that does this sort of conversion. Unfortunately I didn't get any further details. However, this sounds like just what you would like to achieve. Seems like there would have been so much evolution of components over the course of 30 years that it would be pretty non-trivial to swap a 65 Corvette body onto 95 chassis... But apparently this sort of thing can be done. What they did with the electricals is perhaps an even more complicated question. The Delorean seems like it would be much more difficult. The frame design/style of the D is no longer in use? It would be tough/impossible to find any 'chassis' onto which a D body could be swapped, even if money were no object? ________________________________ From: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of markhilton2000 Sent: Sun 5/25/2008 1:42 AM To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [DML] Want a Delorean Since the car came out, I fell in love, but never had the financial resources to buy one, well times have changed. My dream is to own a delorean, more for the external style of the look than dealing with all the endless internal problems. The car being over 20 years old means the level of the technology is serious lacking compared with the cars of the present, as this goes without saying. Is it possible to get a delorean, where all the insides are completely replaced with lets say a more reliable modern car / engine etc.... I want the look of the Delorean, but the technology / engine / insides of a modern reliable car? Would like to know if this is an option and what it is going to co$t.
