Wrong kind of reflector. It sounds like yours is just missing the original piece. All the lenses have some "reflecting" quality to them. The reason your running light doesn't is because it's missing. The reflector is large, about 2 inches thick, in sort of a "W" pattern, and it is a separate piece from the rest of the cluster. I would take a picture, but I don't feel like tearing my apart!
