Hey, stealth designer, Here are some example sizes for a 15"x6" front with approximately the stock diameter. All are Dunlop performance tires, chosen randomly from one of the tire size spreadsheets I've got left over from specifying my Delorean's wheels and tires. There are surely zillions available out there, especially if you allow some latitude on the width and diameter. One thing I noticed was that even for supposedly identically sized tires, manufacturer to manufacturer dimensional variation was considerable. 195/55ZR15 and 225/55ZR16 are my personal favorites. Fields are: SIZE RIM WIDTH SECTION WIDTH OVERALL TIRE DIAMETER STATIC LOADED RADIUS ROLL CIRCUM REVS MILE TREAD WIDTH TREAD DEPTH TIRE WEIGHT MAX LOAD MAX PRESSURE 195/55ZR15 6 7.9 23.4 10.8 71.5 919 6.9 Oct-32 18.1 1136 44 205/55ZR15 6.5 8.4 23.9 11 72.8 870 7.2 Oct-32 19.6 1202 44 195/50ZR15 6 7.9 22.7 10.5 69.3 892 6.9 Oct-32 18.1 1047 44 205/50ZR15 6.5 8.3 23 10.6 69.6 911 6.9 Oct-32 18.9 1136 44 Here's some for the back, 16"/17" x 7"/8ish", same spreadsheet. 225/55ZR16* 7 9.3 25.7 11.9 77.6 816 8.5 Oct-32 25.5 1477 44 245/50ZR16* 7.5 10 25.6 11.8 77.4 819 8.8 Oct-32 26.6 1654 44 225/45ZR17 7.5 8.9 25 11.6 76 834 8.1 Oct-32 22.5 1356 44 255/45ZR17 8.5 10.2 26 12 78.6 806 9.1 Oct-32 27.7 1654 44 --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "thefrewe" <terryfrewen@...> wrote: > > What kind of issues do you think you might have if you went with a > 15" front rim and 16" or 17" rear rim (same width and offset) and the > same size (outside diameter) tire?
