I would say get a bus pass because you will need it! I know the feeling but you definitely can't afford a D if you have to sell your daily driver to get it. And that is extra true if the car won't even run right! I bought a D when I was 18 but I bought one that already ran well, I lived with my parents still, and I had a reliable daily driver. Try to find a way to keep your daily first. Then only buy a D if you can afford to spend thousands of dollars on it the first few years. You may be getting in way over your head with your current situation! Just my two cents, as a guy who has been there before. I'm sure you guys get these types of posts alot, but I'm kind of stuck in my decesion here. I found a local guy that is selling a late '81 D. with the grooved hood but no fuel door. It is painted black. He is asking 13.9k which I know isn't too unreasonible but I would like to get the experts opinion on it. The car starts and runs but does have it's issue. This is what I know about the car from talking to the owner and looking at/driving the car myself.
