[DML] Re: Dead battery fix was:Lauren's Car

Wayne - Actually, we have had a remotely operated battery cutoff switch
for quite some time. It comes in three forms - operated "manually"
using a hidden toggle switch (K1025DP), operated by the Wings-A-Loft
Basic / Elite (K2913DP), and the Wings-A-Loft DeLuxe (K2914DP). The
cutoff switch itself is completely hidden in the battery compartment.
These systems come with instructions on how to preserve power to the
clock, stereo presets, and the remote keyless entry (of course). They
work great. The switch uses no power at all when either switched ON or
OFF, and only uses a tiny bit during the actual switching event. It is
marine rated for hostile and corrosive environments. I imagine that
you could use the K1025DP (manual) in conjunction with the door light
switch, as somebody had suggested, but you would lose the central
electric locking feature when you close the door, which might be a
nuisance. A timer activation would also be possible, although I am
hesitant about passive arming things. Anyway, there you go. I just
thought some clarification might be helpful.

that turns off power to everything but the low drain kill switch? Every
time you press the lock button on your remote, you essentially
disconnect the battery. Yeah, I know there are issues with clocks, or
alarms, but that could be gotten around. Maybe also an option to self-
kill if not used for, say, an hour. It would also be a security
enhancement.
