Exactly what you're talking about has been available in Canada for quite a while, I installed one last year on my D, works great. Remote controlled, you can disconnect and connect the battery with the keyfob; if the batteries start getting weak, it automatically disconnects it; and also has an anti-start circuit that will prevent the car from starting if not disarmed.
