Exactly what you're talking about has been available in Canada for quite a
while,  I installed one last year on my D, works great.

Remote controlled, you can disconnect and connect the battery with the
keyfob; if the batteries start getting weak, it automatically disconnects
it; and also has an anti-start circuit that will prevent the car from
starting if not disarmed.

Dunno if there's an America/International Equivalent; but I'm sure you could
convince some Canucks to bring one to DCS for you.

Here's an engineering opportunity- how about a kill switch circuit that
turns off power to everything but the low drain kill switch? Every time you
press the lock button on your remote, you essentially disconnect the
battery.  
Yeah, I know there are issues with clocks, or alarms, but that could be
gotten around. Maybe also an option to self-kill if not used for, say, an
hour. It would also be a security enhancement.
