Dan, Just a couple things That may help you. First, the Button is not supposed push in and stay like the original. Second, Prior to the release, It was found that there was a programmer glich that caused the headlights to stay on even when you purposely pushed the button to turn them off. However, with the Orange wire connected the system would still auto-off. They went back and reprogrammed all the chips to fix the problem. I suppose they could have missed one. I would contact DMCH to see if they have a solution for you. Btw: I was one the first customers to install one and it worked perfectly out the box. No issues. Can you currently shut the lights off by turning the Ignition key OFF? You just don't get the delay is this correct?
