See below: -----Original Message----- From:content22207 Subject: [DML] Re: RPM Relay (John Hervey) I've learned something new. I did not realize the RPM relay closed with every single distributor rotation. I thought the timer looked for more RPM's than that. (( Doesn't mater how slow or fast it turns. That pulse via the reluctor sends the signal to the RPM relay which turns Fuel pump. The FP now creates the fuel flow but several things in the fuel system is what creates the pressure. )) Of course the distributor turns surprisingly slowly while cranking. Those few bursts alone might well not be enough to bring the primary pressure up to 75 PSI. It would be enough to throw some fuel the cold start valve's way however. Don't you sell a kit that easily installs a pushbutton to manually ground the cold start valve? Engineering a pushbutton from scratch wouldn't be difficult (I've got an unused button still mounted and wired under my knee pad from my aux air valve days), but a kit would be even easier for new owners. (( Yes, On the web site I sell a hot start relay so you don't have to get out of the car to start it. Just push the button on the relay and it sends a + voltage to the cold start valve to open. )) (( John Hervey (( www.specialtauto.com To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
