I beg to differ: The DeLorean uses a high pressure fuel pump in a continuous loop fuel system. Vapor lock should not be an issue. Vapor lock was an OCCASIONAL problem for carbureted fuel delivery systems, caused by: - Low PSI fuel pump (4-6 PSI) - One way fuel delivery (with the carb at the top) - Location of the carb (in the middle of hot V shaped engines) - Some unfortunate carburetor designs - High altitudes - Less sophisticated gasoline formulations of the day (MBTE wasn't introduced until the 1970's) If a DeLorean loses rest pressure, whatever gasoline vaporizes in the lines should be no match for an 80 PSI fuel pump, pushed right back into the tank.
