Imho, If the '83 is a kit car, ALL the DeLoreans were kit cars. While it is true that some of the 83's were assembled from the "remaining parts", all DeLoreans at all times were assembled from the parts then remaining. As one who owned a "late 81" but which the State of California insisted on registering as an '82 and now owning a car assembled in Nov of '82 but registered as an '83, I can tell you I have found absolutely no difference in the quality of the build. Since I put 70+K on the first and have put 123K on the second, I think I can claim a degree of "expertise" on that point.
