How is it fun to pay $15 for a competition I am foreordained to lose? How is it fun to have a bunch of people I don't even know pass judgement on my vehicle? I can get that for free right here on the DML. If Ken needs help paying for the exhibition hall, I will gladly add $15 to my registration fee. If he wants to cordon off an area for owners who do not want to compete, I'll consider that as well. I'm just not willing to sign up for a mandatory competition, especially when competing is the last reason I'm attending DCS in the first place. Why is this whole competition thing taking on such significance? Would I be any less welcome at DCS were I to show up in non-DeLorean vehicle (if something bad happens to #5939 before June, that's exactly what I'll be doing). I am a bit perplexed that so many people can't seem to fathom an owner who does not want to go head to head with them. Look at it this way: I'm already conceding defeat. This is the easiest contest anyone will ever win.
