For those who are concerned about aesthetics you don't "have to" cut into your carpet. Ways around this are 1. Not to use the cardboard piece and just drape the carpet over the bar 2. Buy a piece of cheap carpet to save the stock carpet 3. Cut the carpet and powdercoat the bar black (which is what I did to my prototype bar and it blended in really nice) 4. Some other creative way I haven't thought of.
