I have a perfect dash and I have a Dashmat installed as to damping the projected sound generated from the speakers from the dash board. The mat also controls the extra deflected sound between the windshield and the dash which degrades the quality of the sound image. Personally, I love to remove the Dashmat for it make the interior look "cheesy," but it is necessary to as a sound control device. So, it stays.
