(Moderator's note: I read every message all the way to the end...and I'm a 20 year vet of railroading myself thank you very much! N-scale that is. haha! -Josh) All this discussion about frame rust misses the other gremlin that haunts DeLorean owners: Sunlight. Which is a particular affliction of western (ie: Arizona) vehicles BTW. Our windshields let in a tremendous amount of sunlight. Plays havoc with the vinyl dash pad and binnacle. I purchased a dashmat from www.dashmat.com to keep the sun off. Everyone who sees it assumes my dash is cracked already. No, it is quite intact thank you very much, and my dashmat is $30 insurance that it stays that way (I run them on all my vehicles). BBTW: I doubt the moderator will let this through on another thread (let's see if he reads THIS message all the way to its end): Only half the railroad locomotives in this country are equipped with dynamic brakes. You won't find them on switch engines or most shortline (older) units. A railroad locomotive isn't going to spin its generator (which doubles as a starter motor) on 60 volts, no matter the amperage. And much more than 72 volts WILL damage its onboard electronics (you've got to be careful with the welder when jump starting one). I worked in the railroad industry nearly 25 years.
