Of those 9 or 10 shows how many of them was your car pitted against 100 or more cars that were basically exactly the same car? I would guess you may have been the only DeLorean there. At DCS putting the DeLoreans in a milage category allows for more than just one "DeLorean" award and gives better odds for owners to win a category. Just like gambling a 1 in 10 chance is better than 1 in 100. And in the promoter's eyes if the odds are up, participation is usually up as well. Millage categories also gives those high millage daily driver owners a better chance at an award so they don't have to compete against someone who keeps their car in a garage all year having a car that looks like new. After saying that I feel I need to comment since I am one of those high milage drivers. Don't think I am saying that so I can win an award... I was just trying to explain the DCS milage categories. Personally I don't "need" to be judged, but think it is fun to see how my car stacks up against the others. However, I would think it would be interesting to see how some of the high milage cars stack up against the lower milage cars. Shannon Y ---------------------- 1b. Re: DCS Awards. Posted by: "Dick Ryan" deloreanbiker@xxxxxxxxx deloreanbiker Date: Mon Dec 3, 2007 12:27 pm ((PST)) This year I attended 9 or 10 car shows. I entered/displayed my car in 6 of them. In every show there was some sort of judging - admittedly not all concours - but more of the people' choice. In not a single one of them were there any divisions by mileage. BTW, these comments are not prompted by any desire on my part to enter or to win any awards. Just a personal preference.
