Hi All Last Friday saw possibly the most complete collection of PRV engines assembled in one place ever. Organised by the Renault Alpine Owners Club, we had a 3 mile circuit at Bruntingthorpe proving ground all to ourselves. This includes a 2 mile runway that's 60m wide, so plenty of room to make mistakes, and no speed limit! The cars in attendance were: Alpine A310 (2.7 carb odd-fire) Chris Hawes' 81 DeLorean (2.8 K-jet odd-fire) Alpine GTA V6 Turbo (2.5 turbo even fire) Venturi Atlantique 300 (3 litre 12v turbo even fire) Venturi 400GT (3 litre 24v twin turbo - the monster!) I had the pleasure of a ride in all the cars, and ignoring the wet surface on which all the turbo cars were wheelspinning quite badly, it was a riot. I'd like to categorically state that anyone who genuinely wants to put a 400hp PRV in a DeLorean is just plain nuts :-) The 310 and the DeLorean were very closely matched, except for the 310 being lighter and more nimble - the good old fashioned power-to-weight problem. http://www.venturi-owners.co.uk/pics/DSCN3252.JPG http://www.venturi-owners.co.uk/pics/DSCN3253.JPG http://www.venturi-owners.co.uk/pics/DSCN3255.JPG http://www.venturi-owners.co.uk/pics/DSCN3256.JPG http://www.venturi-owners.co.uk/pics/DSCN3258.JPG http://www.venturi-owners.co.uk/pics/DSCN3260.JPG http://www.venturi-owners.co.uk/pics/DSCN3262.JPG http://www.venturi-owners.co.uk/pics/DSCN3263.JPG http://www.venturi-owners.co.uk/pics/DSCN3264.JPG http://www.venturi-owners.co.uk/pics/DSCN3265.JPG http://www.venturi-owners.co.uk/pics/DSCN3266.JPG Martin www.delorean.co.uk www.venturi-owners.co.uk To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
