I do know why the seats are only half-leather. It is to do with the suppleness of leather sides when fitting them, and full leather seats have to be either slightly baggy and end up with unwanted ripples, OR made-to-measure. As they were mass produced, Trimtech went with half leather to ensure a consistent product This came from the horse's mouth, Simon Bellamy at (what was) trimtech when I had my seats re-trimmed by them in '02 Martin #11766 #51 Venturi Atlantique 300 (with full leather interior. Not much difference in finish though! :-) Josh Haldeman wrote: > I had always heard that there were two reasons the DeLorean just had > leather > only on the fronts of the seats, and no where else in the car besides the > leather wrapped steering wheel, and the original shifter boots.
