Since it's still on my webspace, > Cheap and dirty speedo/odo. When my speedo/odo cable went bad on my > rear engine UltraVan motorhome, I installed a bicycle electronic one. I ran a similar setup on my DeLorean for years: http://www.xs4all.nl/~wouw88/delorean/speedo/computer.jpg http://www.xs4all.nl/~wouw88/delorean/speedo/pickup.jpg I used it as a backup, since my angle drive broke 5 times within one year AND it had the benefit of being metric, having a maximum speed of 299kmh and extra trip- and odometers, a triptimer, Maximum speed memory and a calculation for average speed, ideal on some cruises/trips I attended... The computer was mounted on a bit of plastic tubing that I screwed in place through the hole for the dimmer-knob (since that didn't work I just hardwired to maximum output and removed the knob). Great little thing, if I had to do it again, all I'd change is adding illumination; I allready had something rigged to be fed from the illumination- wires for an automatic, but never got around to fitting it. And then I sold my car :-) Good luck to all, JAN To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
