John, It would be great if you could ask them to find a Power R & P, that is the right size for the D. The reason I was looking at the MR 2 was that it was also a rear/mid engine car, so the power R&P did not need to be very powerful as a car with a front engine. We don't need a huge power unit - something from a very small lightweight car would work - with longer extensions to the spindles could also work. The critical dimensions are the location of the rack and shaft spline-and the displacement distance-for the maximum steering angle. It would be great if they had something that would bolt right up to the D steering. Otherwise I could have Flaming River make a custom adapter. I tried to find a rebuilder that would work with me in the Chicago area, but all the rebuilding is done elsewhere and no one wanted to spend time for just 1 power R&P.
