Darryl, I agree with you on the gear material. I have rebuilt several hundred original angle drives and have never seen plastic gears utilized. Maybe David T. could share with us any information he has on ?plastic gears? and if he has actually seen a set. In 18 years of DeLorean ownership and selling parts not once did I ever encounter plastic angle drive gears. I also checked with PNDC founder Arnie Brandon who has rebuilt more of them than anyone else I know, and he also said they all have metal gears. The problems with them include lack of lubrication, binding of cables, and overall poor design, but not plastic gears. Darryl T. still lurking....
