Wheel offset truly sets DeLoreans apart. On production vehicles with different wheel widths the front wheels usually align with the center of the rear wheels, not the outer edge. Our frames are also slightly wider in the front than the rear. The overall effect is to de-emphasize the difference in wheel sizes. I've wondered if this was a concession to the large rear wheels required by the weight bias. Would help explain our undersized spare tire wells -- if the original concept was 14" around the whole car, our spare tire wells would have been adequate.
