If your car has not had a tune-up in a long time it may be due. Among the things to look at are the spark plugs, ignition wires, fuel injectors, vacuum leaks, air filter, etc. You could try a bottle of injector cleaner if you know all of the other things are good. On a cold start-up and during warm-up it is normal for the idle to be a little unsteady. If it is worse than it usually has been that is a sign of something going wrong. Another indicator is gas mileage. If it is usually say 25 MPG and it is noe 22 that would be another indicator of something wrong. If it is occuring ONLY during warm-up you *could* have a bad Control Pressure Regulator aka warm-up regulator. They do burn out inside. First make sure the wiring plug is connected. Pull it off and reattach it. David Teitelbaum vin 10757 > For some time now my idle at start up is not steady. As of now my Tach is not installed so I can't pinpoint what the R.P.M s is but from what I remember it would be steady from about 800 than dip to 500 for a second or two than back to 800 and repeat til it gets warm, I guess, you get the idea. Also no known Vacuum Leaks which of coarse is the first thing I looked at. > > Any suggestions on where to troubleshoot?
