Hi Darryl, I successfully converted my DeLorean to MegaSquirt EFI. I believe I may be the only one in the community (maybe one other?) to have done it with a stock DeLorean PRV engine (not the Eagle variant) and am running a MegaSquirt computer that I tune myself with a laptop, not a more expensive type ECU that is not as programmable. I wrote an article for Ron and his Gullwing magazine that used to be published. You might be able to find a copy of it still. But, basically if you are only thinking of doing it because a couple of hoses were old and broke, I would think about it some more. It will require down time, a lot of planning, the ability to solder, do electrical work, do some machining possibly, and source parts from totally different cars. In my case, I had gone through three CPR's, two fuel accumulators, various sensors, and I still had a 25 year old fuel system. I was able to sell all of my old K-Jet parts to someone who was resurrecting a poorly stored D, and I reimbursed myself for most of the conversion costs (doing all of the labor myself of course). Nothing you stated in your email is that big of a deal to fix, although everything added together can add up quickly (annoyance and money). Just be very certain of what you are getting into before you tear your car apart! :-) Daniel VIN 10920 Arizona DeLorean Club www.az-d.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Thu Aug 30 12:52 , 'mydmc5898' sent: I'm considering doing this. I just changed the frequrency valve in my car, to try and fix a high idle. (No luck) Anyway two of the hoses snaped like twigs. I had put in a new distrubitor, injectors, had almost all the parts replaced since maybe January of 2006. But the odds and ends. But I'm getting tired of the high idle (2000rpm), and fuel problem after problem. Well you guys know the story. I could never stop owning this car, but I just want it to work. Is there anyone on this list that has done it? I tired looking at stuff on the internet, reading about it, trying to see what parts I need. But if anyone could send me an email about how they did it, I would greatly appricate it. thanks! -Darryl 5898 To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
