Darryl, did you check the idle speed thermistor that is screwed into the Y pipe under the intake manifold? A failed thermistor or a loose connection will instantly make the car idle at 2000+ rpm. Inside the car, take the wood off the parcel tray behind the driver's seat and unplug and meter between pins 9 and 11 on the right connector going to the black idle ECU. It should not be an open circuit. A cold engine should measure about 10k ohms. If you meter an open circuit, you found the problem! Don't give up on the K-jet. It's a real simple and reliable system if you cover all of the basics.
