The rear turn signal lamp does not need a double function as it is not combined (rear lights/stop lights are red, not amber). I have not used LEDs in the rear section as IMO the pread is not as wide (and therefore bright enough) with LEDs. However lately I noticed LED "trees" that do have 5 or 6 facing front and the others to the side (18, 27 and 30 LEDs). The hole in the light section the LED has to protrude through is the basic factor which one can be used. It must be approx. the same size as the current bulb.
