Hi Paul, I have had this on one or two occasions. It's not a De Lorean specific problem but it hapens with a lot of modern cars too. Usually after having driven for a longer time (warm fuel). The solution is not to put the nozzle in too deep as the hot air/fumes can not get out of the tank, wait a moment and then start filling up slowly at first.
