Pull out fuse #7 and test it with a meter. While it is removed look at the fuse block and make sure the connectors are not overheated, loose, or pushed back into the block. Reinsert a good 20 A fuse. Go back to the fuel pump and pull the plug apart. Make sure you have a good, solid ground on the black/purple wire. If you don't then follow it to the inertia switch and see if it is good there. The inertia switch should have a white paint splotch and the button should be down so the red isn't showing. Now, while the motor is cranking see if you have power on the white/purple wire. If you don't then you need to jumper the RPM wires w/p to brown. If you still can't get voltage to the plug by the pump you have to remove the windscreen washer reservoir bucket, pull it down, grab and pull the wiring harnesss out and check the large plug. If it gets corroded the fuel pump circuit which goes through it can be interupted. For testing purposes you can just put 12 volts on the fuel pump to see of the motor and the fuel pump actually works.
