The reason I think DMCH is trying this is that they have tons of parts that they will NEVER sell as replacement like brackets, trim, etc. The only way to move all of this kind of inventory which was never meant for the service parts inventory is to put them into new (kit) cars. This will work out very well for everyone. Since some parts are available in only limited quantities they will have to source them as well to make the new cars. They will have to order more than just what is needed to build them so they will have a supply for service work. That can only be to everyone's benefit, that is everyone except the people that think they will be getting $2,000 or more for a torsion bar! When they run out of PRV engines they will have to find a new powerplant and drivetrain. We can only hope that it will be more powerfull. Besides, a profitable, healthy vendor is necessary for the future of these cars. If you can't get parts for your car it won't take long before it stops and values drops. Look what happened when DMC went bankrupt. They were almost giving the cars away because no one knew if they had any future. Look at other Orphan cars and the trouble owners have in sourcing parts. As Delorean owners we may grumble about price but what will happen to your favorite car when you just can't get the part you need at ANY price! We need DMCH and they need us. All of the publicity isn't going to hurt either. I already have met people asking me about the "new" Delorean that they heard about!
