At about 45 mph, the speed jumps about 10 mph over actual and stays there. The speed reading also tends to be more jumpy over 45. This does not make sense to me. Going slower makes sense given how speedos work, going faster does not. On a couple occasions, I've put a drill on the cable and it does not seem to exhibit the problem. It is as if having the car running has something to do with it... but that does not make sense either (short of collapsing the speedos magnetic field which I have no explanation why that would happen). The yellow hub, angle and front speedo cable are new. I currently have the lambda unit disconnected from the front firewall (is that term logical with a rear engine car?) since it seemed to be aggravated by shifting. But it does not seem to have affected the problem I've had the car and this problem for many years and recently I've decided it is time to figure it out. My next thought is the head unit. I hesitate to pull the binnacle nor to replace parts only to find that it didn't solve the problem. As expressed before, the D's speedo is not a strong point! Thoughts will be appreciated?
