Hi everyone. Just finished my last vacation this year and have had my D running great for the first time in the six years I have owned it. But Yeaterday on my drive home my car bean at times Idleing at about 2000RPM. I looked in the engine and checked everything I could think of. And noticed the plug that goes into the Idle Speed Regulator had a split in it, when I pulled it off the wire that is red and black completely snapped off and left the half that I couldn't pull out inside the plug and the rest inside the harness. The other tow wires were badly damaged pretty much in the same condition as the red and black but hadn't snaped yet. So being so smart I decided to see if this was at least related to the 2000RPM problem. I had extra wire so I cut and spliced to the old ones made a home made plug and put it in to the Idle Speed Regulator. Now it took me about two hours (plus my mixure of gas and air was off) to get the car started and stay running. Not the car idles perfect the engine is low and quiet. So I figure test run. I push on the gas just a tap not even enough to get the car to 1000rpm and the car dies. I turn it back on hit the gas harder and clim to about 4000RPM and the car contuines to run, tap it just a little and it dies. Now I turn it on again figuring I didn't mix it right or whatever, hit the gas harder just to see if it stays running, and it dies again, but it shuddered this time. Fire it back up and it stays running. So I put into reverse and try and back up the drive way. It took me about 4-5 times shutting it off and starting it again etc... Until it finally got in the drive way (uphill too) But I had to almost floor it to get it to not stall.... What did I do? -Darryl 5898 Any help is appricated To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
