I've used nothing but Optima in both of my classic cars, the Delorean and a 69 Firbird convertible. The Delorean battery lasted about 7 years before needing to be replaced. The other car's battery is still going strong after 6 years. Obviously, I think they work great but as a precaution during the winter and other periods where I don't drive the cars much I use a battery tender. Battery tenders are cheap insurance that keep the battery topped of and I think extend the life of the battery which helps to offset the big price tag.
