They already have(DMCH) a nice stack of "donor" cars(packed one on top of the other, outside their warehouse(on racks) and the future will only bring them more, that is most likely what he meant.Up to a point, (then you have to look at your future existance, since it is a one car model business!!)when you have say, under 3000 cars left out there, then YOU have to replenish "the herd" aka the new kit DMC cars,or the refurbished Deloreans otherwise you will run youself out of business/customers,for all your NOS/OEM parts and supplies .All one has to do is look at the Bricklin and see that!! There is not enough Bricklins out there to justify any major Companies simular to DMCH or it's Branches to exist, and make/or to stay in business long term, there is only one major place for Bricklins, and they are basically a very small business compaired to DMCH. DMCH does NOT want to see that kind of future in the long term....not with it's Giant warehouse of parts. cbl --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Marc Levy <malevy_nj@...> wrote: > > Something here still does not make sense.. if there > are all of these "donor" cars out there that DMCH can > get fenders and bars from, they can also take the > whole car (including the VIN plate) and rebuild the > car using a real VIN instead of a "kit" car. > > Build a "new" car around a vin plate, unless there is > an expectation that the new "kit" cars will have more > value than a real DeLorean? > > (BTW, Since the 1983 DeLoreans are "kit" cars we > should come up with a new name for these proposed DMCH > cars!
