I was ignorant a few years ago and paid a mechanic to replace my brake master cylinder. Since then I have replaced myself my clutch slave and master cylinder, and replaced the clutch fluid line with a stainless steel braided one, replaced all four brake calipers and replaced the old flexible brake lines with stainless steel braided ones.
