Re: [DML] How does warning buzzer work

This discussion about the annoying "buzzer" prompted me to share my
solution. Under the driver's side dash above the steering column is a
plate that has the buzzer unit on it as well as the wiper module, etc.
I unplugged the plate and removed it from the car, desoldered the
buzzer and cut it out with a Dremel tool. I then replaced it with
Radio Shack #273-071 80dB Chime module. Re-installed the plate being
careful to get all the little clips that hold it in place reconnected,
and presto! - my car now has a pleasant "ding-dong" sound instead of
the annoying buzzer.

The polarity of the chime unit is important and the red wire must
connect to the +12V side of the buzzer connection.

help with anything after you shut the car off. If you need a
headlight safety, you can buy a Battery Buddy automatic cutoff, or
Houston has a nice solution coming with the new headlight switch logic
box. I'm not sure what the status is of the headlight switches now (I
haven't been paying much attention, 'cause I don't need one), but I
did see some parts at the open house that looked nice.
