Correct me if I'm wrong, but the problem with using E-85 (or any highly Ethanol-based fuel blend) is that it will destroy the rubber bits in the DeLorean's fuel system. If that is indeed the case and since more and more Ethanol in the fuels that we buy, what fuel system components in the DeLorean would need to be upgraded in order to make it Ethanol-proof or at least fairly resistant? Off the top of my head, I'm thinking a minimum of: pump pickup tube, rubber hoses from the tank and accumulator to the rigid lines, the o- rings for the primary pressure regulator (and any other o-ring that comes into contact with fuel... cold start valve tube-to-intake o- ring, for example), and the fuel accumulator itself (if an Ethanol- resistant variety even exists). What else? Is the lining of the stock injector hoses safe? And does any vendor sell a whole package of Ethanol-compatible fuel system bits? I know that Rob Grady sells Viton-lined hoses for the tank which should do the trick; what about the other pieces? Or are the new fuel parts that vendors are selling nowadays already compatible? I'm particularly curious about this, because I'm re- working a fuel system and if there are upgrades that can be made to make a DeLorean handle Ethanol (at least better than it does in stock form), now is certainly the time to do it.
