John, of course I don't believe the color of the wire matters, it's just that I have replaced the coil inside the dizzy and aside from the magnetic reluctor and its gap the wire is the only thing I haven't replaced yet. Now it's true that both are conducting electricity and the ohm meter reads correctly, this is a static or DC test. It may be possible that some other characteristic of the wire is preventing it from working 100%. Perhaps the shielding is not proper or it may not be the proper impedance wire, though at the relatively low frequencies we are talking about it may not make much of a difference. Tom N and I have seen with a scope that there is some low level interference on my green wire with episodic spikes that is not on his car with a standard black wire. Still that does not tell us where the interference is coming from. Perhaps the mystery will be solved tomorrow as there will be another of the weekly tech sessions of the Long Island New York - DeLorean Motor Club, being held starting at 9 am at our Evans Court clubhouse. All are invited.. I'll keep you posted. D² & 6530 Green 2700 ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
