[DML] replacing console lights with LEDs

Has anyone here replaced their center console lights (where a/c and 
heat controls are) with LEDs? The incandesent bulbs are hot and have 
melted my plastic console cover, especially the 'lock doors' light. I 
think LEDs would solve this since they leave off little if any heat.

What about LEDs in the binnacle? At night mine is very dim.
