Andy and others, The "advertised" special DeLorean in attendance, as others will report in more detail, was the Smoky Yunick DeLorean, equipped with a 3 cylinder, reported 300hp, gas vapor technology engine. The "not advertised" special DeLorean in attendance on Saturday was Robert's DeLotus with the twin turbo, Lotus V8 engine. As expected, this was a very welcome surprize to attendees. Robert received the "Longest Traveled Driving a DeLorean" award on Saturday evening, but it is important to note that this is the furthest this DeLorean has traveled since the conversion has been completed (and sorted out), so it is a tribute to all the work Robert has put into this car, to drive it 1500 miles from Vegas to Houston, in the summer heat, with no mechanical issues (only one tire issue, delaying his arrival to Saturday). His girlfriend Terri was a trooper too for making the long trip. As a side note, VIN..20104 was almost lost in the shuffle since it was entered into Concours competion with little fanfare, but Sandor and company did a great job prepping this car in less than 24 hours, to help the car look its best for this event. Ron Wester's Screaming Yellow DeLorean won People's Choice and this car did some nice screaming around the race track Sunday. For those of you that did not attend and are "screaming" for some photos and video, we should see some later this week. Without a doubt, this was the hottest DeLorean event this year.
