I'm working on resurrecting a Craig W460 cassette deck. I've fixed the broken flex cable and cleaned the pots and have good radio reception and sound. The problem is that the cassette mechanism won't activate. Pushing a cassette in, the unit will not inject the tape and start playing. No motor activity. I've verified that the motor is not frozen and the nylon gear train seems to be ok as I can turn the pulleys by hand and get the mechanism to move. Is this a common issue with an already known solution? I've asked John H to email me the service manual, but I figured I would ping the group and see if anyone can lend some ideas.
