You only need to remove the headlight bulbs to insert the aluminum rod, you can leave the headlight brackets in the car. Take heed to Dave Swingles comments here [ http://www.dmcnews.com/Techsection/fascia.htm ] and use only "3M Window Adhesive" unless you want to do this job again in the future. That stuff is super sticky so take extra care and do not get it on any part you don't want it on. I put a towel over the top of the fascia so I could use my thumbs to grab onto the fascia while holding the gooey bar in place. Good idea to also use rubber gloves for easy clean up on your hands. Also a good idea to have a friend put the adhesive on so you can concentrate on the bar and not getting the adhesive on the fascia. Shannon Y ---------------------- 4a. Fixing Eyebrows Posted by: "Soma576@xxxxxxx" Soma576@xxxxxxx soma576 Date: Mon May 14, 2007 8:20 am ((PDT)) Hi Group, I plan to fix my fascia's eyebrows in the very near future. I am looking for tips from other owners who have had success in this repair. All I really know is you cut up some aluminum strips (but what size, thickness?), and use an adhesive, heat gun, and clamps to hold it all together (what type of adhesive?) until it cures. I am also most concerned with removing the headlamps and brackets and how I am supposed to get everything aligned properly again. Don't you have to remove some bolts from inside the trunk to get some of those parts out? How do you take the brackets completely apart, start from scratch, and have everything lined up properly again? The shop manual does not go into this.
