[DML] anti-theft systems?

I live in one of the top car theft cities in the country. I'm worried 
my DMC may get ripped off. I'm sure it's a snap to hot wire being a 
1981 model.  Are there any anti-theft devices that actually work out 
there? I know car alarms, lo-jack, and 'the club' are a joke. I'm told 
that the only thing that'll fool a car theif is a kill switch that 
shuts off the fuel.  Any info would be appreciated!
