When you turn the key to the ON position, you should hear the fuel pump humming in the front and the frequency valve buzzing behind you. These are sounds you normally hear before you crank the engine. If you don't hear the pump, it's possibly the culprit. If you do hear it, it may be an electrical problem. When you say you added fuel to the carb, I'm assuming your engine has been modified or swapped?
