Hi John, In my field of work, the first question that pops up after a problem occurs is "did you do something to the trouble area just before the trouble started"? If you can answer "yes" than the most obvious cause is your action. If you had your instruments panel removed and re-installed, you want to check the printed foil fingers in the connector area. It well may be that while re-connecting a copper finger has separated from the foil and now makes contact and shorts or powers that directional light.
