I'm not in any position to know for a fact whether the cancelled DOA event was purposely planned around high prices to keep things exclusive but if that was the case that philosophy will never work. The DeLorean, while a very interesting and exotic looking car, was simply produced in too large a number to accomplish anything like that. For example, to assume the Buggatti on Pebble beach owes it's value to the exclusivity of the car show location is absurd. Like it or not the six or seven thousand surviving DeLoreans have found their way to a large variety of owners coming from just as many varieties of income levels. To get the most out of appreciating the DeLorean for what it is we need to get past all this and have gatherings that we can all enjoy. Ken Konclik has accomplished this many times over as has The Houston open houses. Bruce Benson It's market value, and $229 per night is a fantastic rate for that quality of a resort. The problem is, many DeLorean owners are too cheap, and that's why so many of these cars are in crappy disrepair and worth so little. Maybe if we get a higher standard of owner, then the cars will be better maintained and the entire marquee will go up in value.
