Bill, If you put an ohm meter across the battery terminals and on the 20 volt scale your only reading 9 volts, when you try to start the car it will drop even further and no mater what coil you put on the car it normally won't start. The Battery has to be holding a charge and reading 12.66 volts. Any thing lower than that after a over night charge will mean the battery is bad. Mark, Thanks for your reply and all the work you did to collect that information! I have a group 78 diehard in there right now; I'm thinking with the hotter coil I put in I won't be so concerned with CCA. My battery after recharging it is only putting out approx 9 volts (I think its pretty old from the looks of it) but it starts like a champ. I'll probably replace it next winter since the warm weather is almost here, and this battery seems to be doing the job for now. -Bill To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
