Modern, sealed batteries, do not like being completely discharged. Even if you do manage to get it to hold a charge after such a deep cycle you will have lost most of the capacity of the battery. You can't add acid, you can't measure the specific gravity of the acid. All you can do is a load test. Batteries are not that expensive. They are not meant to be discharged more than 50% and they can only do that for a limited # of cycles. If the battery is over 5 years old or holds less than 1/2 of it's rated capacity get a new one. It IS true that batteries like long, slow charging. In fact, when charging a battery if you charge it too fast you will overheat it and that is "a very bad thing".
