I read earlier this week on another forum that if you try to start a car with a super-dead battery, sometimes there is just enough juice to get the solenoid to move, but it won't disengage all the way. The result is a burned-up wiring harness and starter. I don't know if this could happen in a DeLorean, since I read this in an auto-maintenance/general newsgroup. Seems possible though if you haven't had any problems until now. The starter may have burned up. It's not too hard to remove and there are a lot of old-timers out there who can rebuild it. No clicks or groans or smoke? Strange. Start by making sure the starter wiring modification has been done. What's the VIN? Then get a test light and a helper. Go to the red and white wire on the solenoid at the starter and tell your lieutenant to start the car. If the wire goes hot, you need a starter. If not, chase it back. The next place is the relay.
